Form I-912

Fee waiver request, Form I-912, typed in Houston, Texas

Form I-912 is the request that USCIS waive its filing fee. CPV Multiservices types it together with the application it belongs to, and helps you assemble the documents the form asks you to attach. The price is given on request, so call us and ask. A waiver applies to the government fee, never to our fee, and USCIS decides on the criteria it publishes at uscis.gov/i-912.

We type, translate and organize the forms and documents you or your attorney have chosen. We do not choose a procedure, determine eligibility or represent you.

USCIS fees are separate

01

I cannot afford the USCIS fee

With Form I-912 you ask USCIS to waive the filing fee. USCIS decides whether to grant it.

What we do with you

If paying the fee is out of reach, there is a waiver request. We fill out the I-912 with you and organize the proof of your income. Who qualifies is decided by USCIS under its own rules; we do not determine it.

For example

You want to apply for citizenship, but the N-400 fee is more than you can pay right now. You bring your proof of income or benefits. We type the waiver request to send along with your application.

USCIS fees are separate

Government filing fees are separate, set by the government, and paid to the agency. Check the current official fees before filing.

03

Who this is for

You or your attorney have already selected Form I-912. You want help reading the instructions, entering your answers and organizing the documents, in English or Spanish.

04

What is included

  • We read Form I-912 and its instructions with you and translate what each question is asking for.
  • We fill in the form from the information you give us.
  • We list the income or benefit documents the form asks you to attach and check that you have them.
  • We type it together with the application it belongs to, so the two go out as one packet.
  • We assemble it in order and give you a complete copy of everything in it.

05

What is not included

  • Any fee USCIS charges is not included in our price, and a granted waiver never covers our fee either. Current government amounts are published at uscis.gov/forms/filing-fees.
  • Filing. We do not file your fee waiver request for you: you, or your attorney, file it with your application.
  • We do not give legal advice and we do not represent you before USCIS or in any court.
  • We do not tell you whether a waiver will be granted, and we do not interpret the criteria for you. USCIS publishes them at uscis.gov/i-912.
  • We do not decide what happens to your request. That decision belongs to USCIS.

06

Documents to bring

  • Form I-912
  • Proof of household income
  • Proof of a public benefit you receive, if any
  • Identification documents

Bring the documents you already have. This is a preparation checklist, not a determination of eligibility or an exhaustive list of filing requirements. Follow the current official instructions for the form you or your attorney selected.

How the request goes at CPV Multiservices

  1. You tell us what you are filing

The application you have decided to file, and the fact that you want the fee waiver request to go with it.

  2. We read the form with you

We translate the questions on Form I-912 and write in the answers exactly as you give them to us.

  3. We go through your documents

We check the income or benefit documents the form asks you to attach, and tell you what is still missing.

  4. The two go out together

The request is assembled with the application it belongs to, and you keep a complete copy of both.

Questions we get about the fee waiver

Would a waiver cover what I pay you?

No. A waiver applies to the fee USCIS charges to process your application. What you pay CPV Multiservices is a typing and translation fee, it is separate, and it is always paid to us.

Can you tell me whether I am eligible for a waiver?

No. USCIS decides, on documented criteria that it publishes at uscis.gov/i-912. We type the form and help you assemble the documents it asks you to attach. Reading those criteria against your own situation is legal advice, which we do not give.

What do I bring to the appointment?

Your identification documents, proof of your household income, and proof of any public benefit you receive. Bring the application you are filing as well, since you send the request with it.
