01

I need to apply for asylum

The asylum application is made with Form I-589 and requires telling your story in detail.

What we do with you

If you or your attorney have decided to file for asylum, we transcribe your statement, fill out the I-589 with your details and organize the evidence you have, in English or Spanish. For the strategy of your case and for court, you need an attorney.

For example

You have documents, photos and messages that show what you went through in your country, but they are disorganized and in Spanish. We organize them, translate them and fill out the form with you.

Government filing fees are separate, set by the government, and paid to the agency. Check the current official fees before filing.

03

When people come to us with this

You or your attorney have already selected Form I-589. You want help reading the instructions, entering your answers and organizing the documents, in English or Spanish.

04

What is included

  • We complete Form I-589 from the account you give us.
  • We read the documents you bring, in Spanish or in English, and tell you what each one says.
  • We organize your evidence and your supporting affidavits into the packet.
  • We check the packet against the form instructions before you sign it.

05

Beyond what we do

  • Whatever USCIS charges to file. Those amounts are set by the government and published at uscis.gov/forms/filing-fees.
  • Filing. We do not file your application for you: you, or your attorney, file it.
  • Legal advice. Claudia Perez Vila is not an attorney and is not an accredited representative of the Department of Justice. We do not tell you what to claim, and we do not decide whether asylum is the application that fits your case.
  • Representation. We do not appear for you before USCIS and we do not appear for you in immigration court. If your case is in court, consult a licensed immigration attorney through the American Immigration Lawyers Association at ailalawyer.com.
  • The decision, which belongs to the government alone. No one here can promise an outcome, and anyone who does is a warning sign.

06

Documents to bring

  • Form I-589 (Application for Asylum)
  • Passport and travel documents
  • Evidence of persecution or fear
  • Country condition reports
  • Two passport-style photos
  • Supporting affidavits

Bring the documents you already have. This is a preparation checklist, not a determination of eligibility or an exhaustive list of filing requirements. Follow the current official instructions for the form you or your attorney selected.

Asylum questions

Is what I tell you confidential?

See our privacy policy for how personal information is handled and any applicable disclosures. CPV is not a law firm and does not create an attorney-client relationship. Consult a licensed attorney if you need legal advice or representation.

Can you represent me in immigration court?

No. Claudia Perez Vila is not an attorney and is not an accredited representative of the Department of Justice, so we cannot represent you before USCIS or in immigration court, and we cannot give legal advice. If your case is in court, consult a licensed immigration attorney; the American Immigration Lawyers Association lists them at ailalawyer.com.

Can you promise my asylum case will be approved?

No. No attorney, no typing service and no company can promise that, and a guaranteed result is one of the clearest signs of immigration fraud. What we do is type Form I-589 accurately from your account and organize the evidence you bring. The decision belongs to the government.
