Form N-400

Naturalization typing, Form N-400, in Houston, Texas

CPV Multiservices types Form N-400, the naturalization application, in Houston, Texas. We go through your green card, your identification, your travel history and your tax records with you, then complete the form from what you provide. We give you our fee at your appointment, before any work starts. The USCIS filing fee is separate and set by the government.

We type, translate and organize the forms and documents you or your attorney have chosen. We do not choose a procedure, determine eligibility or represent you.

01

I want to become a citizen

The citizenship application, naturalization, is made with Form N-400.

What we do with you

If you are already a resident and have decided to apply for citizenship, we fill out the N-400 with you: your trips, your addresses, your work history. We explain what each section asks and organize your documents.

For example

You have had your green card for years and want to become a citizen. You bring your resident card, your passport with your travel stamps and your work details for the last few years. You leave with the N-400 completed and reviewed.

USCIS fees are separate

Government filing fees are separate, set by the government, and paid to the agency. Check the current official fees before filing.

03

Who comes to us for this

You or your attorney have already selected Form N-400. You want help reading the instructions, entering your answers and organizing the documents, in English or Spanish.

04

What we do

  • We complete Form N-400 from the information you provide.
  • We reconstruct your travel history and your addresses with you, entry by entry.
  • We read your tax records and your certificates with you and tell you what they say.
  • We check the packet against the form instructions before you sign.
  • We explain the notices USCIS mails you afterwards, in your language.

05

What stays outside our work

  • The USCIS filing fee, which the government sets and you pay directly to USCIS. Current amounts are published at uscis.gov/forms/filing-fees.
  • Filing. We do not file your application for you: you, or your attorney, file it.
  • Legal advice and representation of any kind. Claudia Perez Vila is not an attorney and is not an accredited representative of the Department of Justice, so we do not advise you on whether to file, and we do not appear for you before USCIS or in court.
  • The interview and the decision, which belong to USCIS. No one here can promise an outcome.

06

Documents to bring

  • Form N-400 (Application for Naturalization)
  • Copy of your green card
  • State ID or driver’s license

Naturalization questions

How long will USCIS take?

We do not quote a number, because it depends on the form, on the service center handling it, and on your own case, and it changes through the year. The authoritative source is the USCIS processing times tool at egov.uscis.gov/processing-times, where you select your exact form and service center. You can follow your own case at egov.uscis.gov/casestatus with the receipt number USCIS sends you.

Can you tell me whether I qualify?

No. Whether you qualify is a legal question, and answering it would be legal advice. Claudia Perez Vila is not an attorney. We type the form you decide to file, from the information you give us. If your history includes a criminal record, a prior denial, or a case in immigration court, speak with a licensed immigration attorney first; you can find one through the American Immigration Lawyers Association at ailalawyer.com.

What should I bring?

Your green card, your state ID or driver's license, your travel history, five years of tax returns, and your marriage or divorce certificates. Bring any correspondence from USCIS as well, even what you think does not matter. It is easier to set aside a document we do not need than to interrupt your case later because one is missing.
